- Job Summary:
- The Senior FATP Engineer will be responsible for overseeing Final Assembly, Testing, and Packaging (FATP) processes in the production department, ensuring smooth integration of new product introduction (NPI) to mass production (MP). This role requires strong collaboration with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize production efficiency, implement process improvements, and ensure compliance with automotive industry standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, etc.).
- Key Responsibilities:
- 1. FATP Process Implementation & Optimization
- – Develop and implement FATP process standards, ensuring efficient assembly, testing, and packaging operations.
- – Lead process validation, equipment setup, and production ramp-up for new products.
- – Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in FATP and drive continuous improvement.
- 2. New Product Introduction (NPI) & Process Readiness
- – Support the NPI process, ensuring FATP capabilities meet new product requirements.
- – Work closely with Process Engineers and R&D teams to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFX (Design for Excellence) principles are incorporated into production.
- – Conduct pilot runs and process capability studies before transitioning to mass production.
- 3. Quality & Compliance
- – Ensure FATP processes comply with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer quality requirements.
- – Work with Quality Engineering teams to implement SPC, MSA, and control plans for FATP operations.
- – Support 8D analysis and corrective action implementation for FATP-related quality issues.
- 4. Equipment & Automation Integration
- – Oversee assembly line automation and equipment installation, ensuring FATP efficiency.
- – Collaborate with automation engineers to enhance inline testing and defect detection capabilities.
- – Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated to support stable production.
- 5. Production Efficiency & Cost Control
- – Optimize production cycle times, labor utilization, and material flow for FATP.
- – Implement lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- – Monitor KPIs (Yield, FPY, OEE, scrap rates) and drive improvement initiatives.
- 6. Supplier & Cross-Functional Coordination
- – Work with supply chain teams to ensure on-time material availability for FATP processes.
- – Coordinate with packaging teams to ensure compliance with logistics and customer packaging specifications.
- – Support the implementation of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and process deviations.
- 7. Continuous Improvement & Lessons Learned
- – Conduct post-NPI reviews to document lessons learned and improve future FATP setups.
- – Lead Kaizen and Six Sigma projects focused on FATP process enhancements.
- – Provide technical training and mentorship to FATP operators and junior engineers.

- Qualifications & Skills:
- 1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Automation, or a related field.
- 2. 7+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 5 years specializing in FATP.
- 3. Strong expertise in final assembly, testing, and packaging processes for automotive electronics products.
- 4. Experience in NPI project execution and transitioning products to MP.
- 5. Familiarity with IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, and lean manufacturing principles.
- 6. Proficiency in manufacturing analytics tools, MES systems, and process monitoring.
- 7. Hands-on experience in SMT/PCBA assembly is a plus.
- 8. Fluent in English, with strong communication skills for working in an international environment.
- 9. Ability to analyse process data, solve production issues, and implement improvements proactively.
- 10. Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
- 11. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- 12. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- 13. Start-up experience will be a plus.
